Discover Sarah Dacey MA, PG Dip, LRAM's teaching style and pedagogy:
Sarah studied Music at the University of York, completing an MA in Contemporary Studies for which she was a recipient of the Lady Lyons Millenium Scholarship. She then studied at the Royal Academy of Music obtaining a PG Diploma in Vocal Studies with Distinction, winning the Bliss Competition, coming runner-up in the John Ireland Competition and awarded the Van Smit Prize.
Sarah is an advocate of new music and a member of the critically acclaimed juice vocal ensemble, whose debut album 'Songspin' was recently voted 'Best Classical Contemporary Album' in America's Independent Music Awards 2012. They've performed live on Radio 4's 'Woman's Hour' and Radio 3's 'The Choir' and have performed in many prestigious music venues, from the Wigmore Hall to the Bfi.
Sarah also performs with many professional vocal and instrumental ensembles including the BBC Singers, En Travesti, Philharmonia Voices, Synergy Vocals, Grosvenor Chapel Choir, the Octandre Ensemble, the Petrichor Ensemble and Okeanos.
She is an experienced vocal workshop leader, coach and examiner, having worked for several leading academic institutions such as Newcastle University, Cardiff University, UEA, Ulster University, Trinity Laban, Leicester University, Queen's Belfast, York University and Dartington.
She has also worked with young people, the elderly and the disabled for a variety organisations including Live Music Now!, RNIB, the Wigmore Hall and Aldeburgh Young Musicians. She also writes vocal music for juice vocal ensemble and works with young composers on the SAM (Sound and Music) Summer School every year.

Sarah has taught at Rosebery School for Girls in Surrey, The Charter School in Dulwich and currently teaches the University of Kent and Trinity Laban Conservatoire.
Sarah is an experienced teacher of everyone from beginners to diploma level and beyond. Whatever style of music you would like to study, all students are grounded with a sound technique in breathing, posture and placement.
All exam syllabuses can be covered including ABRSM, Trinity College and Rock School. Aural Tests and Sight Reading are incorporated into Singing tuition. Music Theory can also be included or taught separately.
